South Indian Food and Fun Evening

Lenten Project Event

On Saturday 30th April 2011, the South Indian Food and Fun evening took place in the Parish Hall. This is the second year that this programme has been hosted and due to the success of last year, when over £1075 was raised for the Parish Lenten Charity. We hoped to do the same this year and raise even more money to help the great cause. Jesus always taught us to be good neighbours and to help those in need and as a parish community, we have been following his teaching, helping those less fortunate than ourselves.

The evening was a great success, filled with many cultural programmes such as traditional dancing as well as modern, singing and more performed by children who gave all their effort to make the evening a memorable one. As a south Indian community, we were able to portray various forms of entertainment from our homeland. The evening was accompanied by various delicacies as we hoped to share the taste of Kerala.

We would like to thank everyone that attended the evening and contributed to the fund. The success of the evening was due to your generosity especially. This year we raised £1250 and we hope that in the coming years there will be more opportunities to raise money to help those in need of our help and support.
