Re-ordering of the sanctuary
The work to re-order the sanctuary started in January 2006, and was completed in time to celebrate the Palm Sunday Masses in the new sanctuary.
During that time, a screen was erected to partition off the sanctuary from the rest of the nave so that dust was contained, and as much as possible, the use of the church could continue as normal whilst allowing the builders the space to work uninterrupted. The whole building was also re-painted during this period, and the lighting replaced.
In some of the pictures below, artist Theodore Gillick can be seen carving items of sanctuary furniture.
