Fr Chris O’Brien Farewell Mass
Fr Chris was ordained priest in 1960 having studied at Oscott College, Birmingham. He served as assistant priest in the parish from 1996 to July 2005, and on the evening of Friday 16th September 2005, the Parish of Our Lady Immaculate, Tolworth gathered to give thanks for the 9 years that Father Chris had spent with us.
He was the Main Celebrant of a beautiful Mass that evening and his message to us, taken from the Gospel, was “Love one another as I have loved you.” Fr. Chris took on Pastoral responsibilities for a Convent & Nursing Community in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and more recently, lives once again in the parish and attends mass as part of our community at the weekend.
